Went to Shanklin Theatre on Wednesday night to see rising young comedy star and actor Chris Ramsey. I had great fun when I interviewed him at the Forest Arts Centre, New Milton, a few weeks ago. Such a super guy and he did tease me about not needing to worry about twitter and facebook at my age. Perhaps I should have left it there! I think I was the oldest member of the Shanklin audience – and I did think back to some of the legendary comics I had seen there in the past 50 years or more. I even had to ask friends what a few of the words meant.

Went to the Quay Arts on Wednesday night and saw some brilliant acting – including some of the best performances I had ever seen from some Island actors. It was just a pity I was like many others in the audience – and didn’t have a clue what it really was all about. Seeing Emily Scotcher give a stunning performance – without even uttering a word – was a real bonus. I wonder what her mother of it? Thankfully, her pantos have no four letter words!

I knew Friday night would be something special – without even entering the Medina Theatre. Whenever my girlfriend can’t join me at a show – it normally turns out to be brilliant. The Ventnor Theatre Group’s Les Miserables was true to form. The company were primarily sixteen years olds and lower and they created one of ther most emotional nights I had seen in an Island theatre for some time. I was sat with John Moreno from the County Press and we both felt so lucky to have been there to witness such an amazing opening night.
