WC September 30.

Wednesday was quite a busy and exciting day. I set off early for London to catch up with long term pal Craig Douglas with a visit to his Dolphin Square apartment. Craig has suffered health problems for nearly four years. We had an interesting chat and he will feature in my November John Hannam Interview in The Beacon. I left to head to the heart of the West End to interview Leee John from Imagination, that great soul and funk band from the 80s. Whilst at the Wise Buddah Studio waiting to be called for my interview I met two Americans who had a selection of vinyl albums and we were chatting as to how great to see that vinyl is making a comeback. Ity turned out that the chatty lady was actually Ana from the Scissor Sisters. It was quite a day and the wonderful Jo Brand came in a few minutes later. I did the interview with Leee and raced back to the Island to review a Forest Forge play for The Stage. This was at the Quay Arts Centre – and quite brilliant. It was a 7-30 start and I was still interviewing Lee at 4-10pm. It was a day to remember.

Went to the Totland Village Hall on Friday night. It’s a venue I love to visit and it has a great intimate atmosphere. Saw the best play I had seen there for some time – The Plaza Suite, directed by Edna Crosbie. One or two good friends – Bob Everson and Mike Santer – made me laugh a lot. I never had Mike down as a great lover!!!
