WC APRIL 18.
It’s not been one of my favourite weeks but it did get so much better by the weekend. I had an exciting Tuesday when I saw 6 Bee-eaters at Whitwell.
I caught up with my daughter Caroline on Thursday in Baldock and we had a great time. She is always busy and had to work in London both before and after our visit.
On Saturday afternoon I had a phone call from my old friend Chris Cox who surprised me by saying the lovely Tina St Clair and her great husband, John, were back on the Island for a few days from Australia. I never expected to see them again as they went back to Aussie around 4 years ago after their last local summer season. I managed to record an interview with her for a future John Hannam Meets.
It was also very exciting to see my sister Celia and her husband John featured in a national newspaper article. It was such a touching story – and they scrubbed up so well for the lovely main picture! They also became grandparents for the first time – so the week ended on a high.
