WC OCTOBER 19
Had a great Monday evening at the Bonchurch Social Club. I think it was my 5th visit and they seem to like it, yet again. Never decide what I’m going to do until I am driving to the gig. Had been to the dentist first thing that morning. Not the ideal preparation.
Slipped up to London on Tuesday to interview an old friend – Daniel O’Donnell. He was in great form and wanted to talk about being knocked out of Strictly two days earlier. Can be heard on Sunday November 1 on John Hannam Meets.
The rest of the week was spent with my head down preparing for my on-stage appearance with Lesley Garrett, on Sunday, and the endless admin for the IW Amateur Theatre Awards on November 3. It takes hours of work.
Wanted to get to Donovan on Saturday night at the Portsmouth Guildhall but pressure of work meant I could not make it.
On Sunday night I was so honoured to be a part of An Audience With Lesley Garrett at the Shanklin Theatre. I had to introduce the show and interview Lesley, in between her songs. What a voice she has – fantastic. Loved her company. I think they were happy with my performance. One of her biggest fans, who follows her all around the world, certainly was.
