WC OCTOBER 7

Not a good start to the week. On Monday morning I had a strange phone call from my partner, Bertie, who had a fall sometime over the weekend. She lost 36 hours completely and can’t remember anything from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning. She ended up in St Mary’s Hospital for several hours and was in a very confused state. She has a real black eye and various bruises on her legs and hip. She’s been quite poorly.

Thanks to Bertie’s family, I was able to attend two arranged interviews on Tuesday afternoon in Southampton. One was with my old friend SHANE RICHIE and his EastEnders co-star JESSIE WALLACE. They were at the launch of the Southampton Mayflower pantomime and in brilliant form. I also caught up with one of my favourite actors – – PAUL NICHOLLS. He gave me a wonderful interview, Currently he’s touring Britain in The Shawshank Redemption. He’s been in so many hit series.

Well known author and national newspapers journalist Philip Norman, who grew up in Ryde, returned to his old school on Friday to give a talk. I managed to track him down on Saturday morning and record a fascinating interview which included talking about the subject of his latest book, Paul McCartney. Later that day I nipped over to Warner’s, Norton Grange, to interview Marty Wilde, who made a quick visit. Despite being on limited time, Marty found the time to give me a great interview and we even mentioned my new book, for which he has written the foreword.

The following lunchtime I went back to give a short talk at Norton Grange about my new book and sold quite a few copies. I was highly delighted. They have asked if I would go back again. I was well looked after by the entertainment’s staff and was impressed by the way they presented my spot.
