WC MARCH 13

Had a great interview with Ruth Madoc in Bristol on Wednesday. Currently Ruth is on a nationwide tour of The Wedding Singer, which comes to the Mayflower, Southampton, from April 4 to 8. I actually first met Ruth many years ago when she we appearing in a pantomime at the Guildhall, Southampton. I have got to know her well over the years. Bertie and I had a problem on our return journey. The bus from near the Hippodrome Theatre, Bristol, to Temple Meads Station got stuck in traffic for around 20 minutes. We eventually arrived on platform 11 to see the train pull away. It was another hour to wait. Heavy fog around the Solent also meant the Red Jet was restricted in speed – but they were running, which was just brilliant. We arrived about 90 minutes later than expected but we had made it.

Just been asked by Dimbola, Freshwater Bay, to give a talk in their Olympus Gallery on the afternoon of Wednesday April 1 at 2-30pm. Admission is free but donations to Dimbola would be much appreciated on the afternoon. My new book, The John Hannam Interviews, will be on sale at the gig, at a special price.
