WC FEBRUARY 17

The week got off to a good start when I was told the Sussex Living magazine plan to use some of my future articles in their monthly magazine. The first one they are using is Sir Ian McKellen.

I have also had some positive response to my Isle of Wight County Press feature on the Ryde Commodore. It was part one, published last Friday, and all being well part two will follow soon It has been sent

On Friday another birthday passed without any fuss. Had some nice presents and cards. We had a lovely pub lunch spoilt by a group of eight locals celebrating a golden wedding. Did they whinge? Not ‘arf. It was embarrassing.

I was hoping for news of an interview with one of my favourite new stars. Sadly, it may not happen. It could arise at the last minute.

On Saturday I set off early to head to Chesham to catch up with Sean, Susie and the twins. I arrived in the town at 11-15 and had a few hours with them all. Great fun. Then Sean and I went to watch Chesham United play Gosport in the Southern League. There was a gate of over 500 and Chesham won 3-0. There was some unexpected half-time entertainment when a wonderful Red Kite flew around the pitch. The town is full of them. Such brilliant birds. One of Gosport’s best players was Ryan Woodford from the Island. I met him on the ferry coming back to Ryde.
