WC FEBRUARY 24

The highlight of the week should have been an interview with Jason Manford in Northampton. This looked a real possibility and I was really looking forward to chatting to this brilliant British all-round entertainer. Sadly, in the end, his publicist did not pass it. I had plans for a national podcast and an interview in two magazines. You can’t win them all.

The news did get better as an actor I have been chasing for a couple of years or more has now agreed to an interview in March. I am also excited by the possible chance of interviewing one of my favourite actors. She has recently been seen in a hit TV series. I have tried and failed before but I am more confident it might just happen a few weeks time.

I have been told  by several  people who have purchased my previous four , that I must write at least one more book. I might be persuaded. I have thought about a subject and am giving it some thought. It would likely come out in 2021. I am currently working on my two DVDs.

I am still hoping to interview two more huge stars in the near future. In this business you just have to be patient.

Also just found out the County Press are interested in more of my ideas for their Wight  Memories  column. They aim to print my Commodore Cinema part 2 feature in a couple of weeks time. I have suggested another three ideas and they like them.

I have purchased the Southampton Echo every day for over 50 years. Sadly, they have now decided not to bring them to the Island anymore. Their last delivery was Friday February 28. A very sad day. It’s not quite the same trying to search it all out online. I can remember when they had three permanent reporters here on the Island. Some bring back fond memories, including Maurice Leppard, George Chasney, Mike Merrett and Peter Hall.
