WC MAY 10.

What a great start to a week with my first-ever interview with a Strictly Come Dancing winner. I caught up with Tom Chambers, who won in 2008, at the super Hob Theatre, at the Southampton City College. He is starring with the lovely West End and former Hollyoaks star Summer Strallen, in the world premiere of Top Hat, which is going on a British tour before a 2012 West End season. The show heads for the Mayflower, Southampton, from September 13 to 24 and is the first-ever stage version of the 1935 RKO movie starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. It was a fascinating launch and they both were a delight to talk to. The staff and students at the Southampton City College were a real credit to the facility.

Just heard my longest serving showbiz pal is coming to Thursday night’s gig at the Newclose Cricket Ground. I am looking forward to it but am rather nervous. Which is always a good sign.

The feedback from my 21st Anniversary Night promoted by IW Radio at the Newclose Cricket Ground has been very positive and rewarding. People seem to have enjoyed it – and thanks to Claire Willis for arranging the evening and Paul Topping for a lovely introduction. It was a great personal thrill for me to see Craig Douglas in the audience, that also included a few friends and relatives.

The week concluded with an interview with Noel Sullivan, who first found huge fame in Hear’Say. Currently he’s at the Mayflower, Southampton, starring as Galileo in We Will Rock You. Another charming young man who has certainly earn’t his road to success. I didn’t mention his hometown football team – Cardiff City, currently in the play-offs for the Premiership. I have friends who support Swansea and Reading! I do have a great regard for Dave Jones the Cardiff manager and a former guest of JH Meets, when he managed Southampton.
