WC JANUARY 2 – 2012.
What a great start to the New Year with a visit to Woking to catch up with Island-star Amy Bird, currently playing Peter Pan. It proved a great double as I also interviewed Capt Hook – Steve McFadden. What a finale fight they have!!!
It was touch and go whether I would make it on Tuesday but the Ryde Pier Cat ran all day and there was no problem with the huge waves. With both Red Funnel ferries off and the Yarmouth to Lymington not running, it was a great PR success for the Ryde to Pompey Cat. With an unwelcome early morning power cut, the day could only get better. Ironically, Amy, who was staying about ten minutes up the London line, could not make our first interview time because of a tree on the line.
I have been chasing a charismatic lead singer and songwriter from a world famous group. Just heard a whisper that it could happen in the next two weeks.
Sad news about the death of Bob Holness – a lovely man. I am trying hard to include a Hannam Archive of our 1998 interview in next week’s show.
