WC June 18.

If interviews were hard to obtain for a week or so it all changed on Monday and Tuesday – when I picked up six interviews. This must be a record even for me. Amazingly, I got back from London on Monday, after seeing Ann Sidney and Joe Absolom, to find four had been arranged for me in Chichester for the very next day. It was early morning, like just after midnight, and around 8am the same morning, to get my research done. It was well worth it becasue they all seemed to appreciate it. Who were they? Joe McGann, Michael Feast, Gary Beadle and our own Richard Frame. They all turned out so well and I didn’t worry about missing the England game to get four very receptive interviews.

It’s been quite a week and I nipped down to Wimborne on Thursday to interview Dave Berry and it’s his most fascinating radio interview to date, with so many stories and facts not known by many fans of 60s pop music.

At this stage, it looks like it could be another five interviews next week. Thankfully, it has all suddently gone mad.

I am naturally disappointed that my shows for Sunday June 24, featuring four Calendar Girls and easy listening star Dominic Kerwan, have been cancelled by the management of IW Radio, but completely understand the reasoning behind this, following all the problems at this year’s IW Pop Festival.
