WC MAY 6.

I had a great Tuesday afternoon interviewing Wally Edwards for the June Beacon magazine. Wally was the diamond who worked for Southern Vectis for so many years. He came to the Island in 1960, having arrived in Southampton from Jamaica two years earlier.Such a popular figure in so many walks of Island life.

On Wednesday I nipped out to the West Wight to interview a TV legend – Shaw Taylor – who hosted Police 5 for 30 years. He was a TV announcer, quiz show host and a presenter of several sporting programmes. Listen out for him soon on JH Meets.

Paid my first visit to Carisbrooke College on Thursday afternoon at the invitation of one of their drama teachers, Joe Plumb, a very talented young theatre director. Joe has formed an after school club to produce radio programmes in the college. It was a pleasure to talk to them about interviewing.
