WC JUNE 29.

On Tuesday night I saw a super show called Dance Til Dawn, starring Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace, at the Mayflower, Southampton. It was given a great reception, which was fully deserved. What a dynamic dance duo!

Two nights later I saw Pygmalion at the Apollo, Newport. There were several excellent acting performances, particularly from some of the supporting cast. My Fair Lady has, in some ways, taken the edge off the George Bernard Shaw play, which is still a real classic.

There was talk of being involved with a TV programme being filmed on the Island. I was interviewed but the letter must have got lost in the post!!

My son and his wife, Susie, were on the Island to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. A party of five of us went to the Crab Inn, at Shanklin, on Saturday night, before our big celebration the next day at the Essex, Godshill, and we were all impressed with the entertainer – Simon Ledger. Listen out for him soon on John Hannam Meets.
