WC DECEMBER 28.

A quiet week by my standards although with Sean and Caroline home for Christmas it was such an enjoyable time – and they have actually set up a twitter account for me to help promote my Hannam Archives to a bigger audience. It seems I already have a few followers.

It was so sad to lose an old friend over Christmas – the lovely Tony Early from Freshwater, who died on Christmas Eve. I will always remember him with a smile on my face – as he made me laugh every time I was in his company. My thoughts are with Carol and her family.

It’s been such a different Christmas for me – with only three pantomimes seen. Normally, I see at least ten before Christmas and another six afterwards. Retiring from the IW Theatre Awards and doing less for The Stage has given me some unexpected free time. Hence, my book is coming along nicely.

I did see the best pantomime I have ever seen on the Island – and it was Jack and the Beanstalk at Shanklin Theatre, which ends on Sunday January 3. A brilliant professional cast and such fun. A superb team effort. Congratulations to everyone concerned – and no wonder the business was so good.
