Unlike Bob Geldof I do like Mondays and in particular this one when I nipped over the Mayflower, Southampton, to interview Jason Donovan. I always love chatting to him and he is such joy to work with. From November 22 to 26 he is starring in the first British touring version of Million Dollar Quartet at the Mayflower. I was privileged to be one of just a few given the opportunity to talk to him. The musical is about the great Sam Phillips, who discovered Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee and Carl Perkins. Already thinking about a follow-up book to the new John Hannam Interviews, featuring pop stars of the 50s, 60s and 70s, due out in early October. I have some great ideas ticking through my head.
