Saw the First Act production of In The Beginning on Monday night – and enjoyed another emotional evening at Shanklin Theatre. The strides made by this company are quite amazing and they were brave enough, once again, to try something different. One or two pros in the audience were most impressed, including Melvyn Hayes.
I enjoyed The Wedding Singer press night at the Mayflower on Tuesday. This is a full-on musical and great fun, with some outstanding songs. Loved Ruth Madoc’s input. She was such fun and is probably twice as old as anyone else in the company.
Went to Porchester on Saturday to see two Isle of Wight football teams compete in two Hampshire Football Association cup finals. Northwood beat Broughton 3-1 to win the Hampshire Junior B cup and Whitecroft Barton beat Locks Heath 3-0, despite having a man sent off in the first five minutes. It was indeed a great double for the Island.
