Saw Grease on Tuesday at the Mayflower, Southampton. It is a fantastic show and runs until Saturday July 8. A superb young company but there are one or two very effective performances from more experienced performers, including Jimmy Osmond, who has a very small role but he steals the show. What a buzz in the theatre – always a good sign of a show being enjoyed by so many people.

Went to the cinema on Thursday night, which was a rarity, to see the brand new movie Hampstead. We loved it. It proved a great night out. Not too impressed with the trailers for forthcoming new movies, other than Dunkirk, which looks totally amazing.

Went to Warner’s Bembridge Coast on Saturday night to see the latest show from Paul Da Vinci, who was the fantastic voice on huge hits by the Rubettes and Tight Fit. It is very new and needs some work done on it. He still has an amazing voice. Having an interval in his set may not work with a holiday centre audience. In the 15 minute break many left the ballroom and never returned. His amazing Sugar Baby Love came right near the end of his long show. Many stayed with it and there were shouts for more at the end.
