John was saddened by the news of the death of Bill Maynard, one of his favourite actors, particularly during his many years in Heartbeat. John first got to like Bill in the memorable ’50s TV show Great Scott It’s Maynard, in which he starred with Terry Scott. John first met Bill in 1966 when he saw him in Lock Up Your Daughters, in a Bournemouth summer season show, with Craig Douglas and Ann Sidney. Later he interviewed him on two occasions. The second time was in 1996 and this Hannam Archive will soon be available on a podcast.
