Had a great surprise early in the week when my old friend Mike Rogan, a former Football League goalkeeper with Workington gave me a call from Whitehaven. Always a pleasure to hear from him and we have spent holidays together in past years, on the Island and in the Lake District. I saw him play quite a few games for Workington. I even trained with them on one holiday. We share the same interests in music and he has over 7,000 records.
Just written a fascinating sports story for this week’s IW County Press. It features a guy called Dave Woodhouse who made world sporting headlines back in 1988 and it involved Vinnie Jones, now a famous actor.
Very sad to hear of the death of famous movie, TV and stage actor RONALD PICKUP (pictured). I had the great thrill of interviewing him in Chichester a few years ago. He was such a lovely modest man. He appeared in many top movies and hit television series. Soon I will celebrate his life with that interview from 2014.
I was thrilled to be interviewed by Amy Shephard live on Zoom on Thursday night. It seems to have been well received and was great fun. It was organised by IW Radio and The Beacon magazine. I was also delighted that there were also viewers across Sussex. This can now be downloaded online and there is a direct link from the news page of this website.
