Blog post

WC APRIL 23.

It’s been quite a week. I nipped up to Basingstoke on Tuesday afternoon to interview Martin Taylor, one of the world’s leading jazz guitarists, who is heading for the Newport Jazz Weekend on July 22 for a concert at the Riverside Centre. He has had several Island connections during his life.

On Thursday I went to the CTC Aviation Training Centre, at Nursling, Southampton, to interview the Island’s Tom Clifton. Tom was once a news presenter on IW Radio but is now a pilot for EasyJet. There was an amazing ending when I was given the controls in the Air Bus simulator and asked to land the craft at Gatwick. It was all so realistic and scary and if it had been for real I wouldn’t have been writing this blog about it. I would have made the news myself!!! My partner, Roberta, felt a little sick as I banked the plane and nosedived a bit too quick.

I was shopping in Sainsbury’s on Friday morning and I took a very exciting phone call – and no wonder I forgot a few items on my list. It put me on a high. I had the confirmation of an interivew, in Brighton, with one of my favourite actresses – and a very sexy lady. I’ll have to keep it quite – at present – in case my pacemaker finds out!!!
